Leanne Bard started the Mantra clothing line in November 2005 to encourage people (and herself) to focus their thoughts on positive and beneficial intentions, and with the hope that it would serve as a daily reminder. “I just wanted to remind people that we have a choice. We can choose to get agitated and upset about things or we can try to relax and enjoy life.”

Out of that inspiration she created Mantra’s tagline, "designed as a daily reminder to you and others in your life to seek balance and joy." It has become as successful and expanding clothing company. Her shirts can now be found in numerous stores throughout the United States.

Each of Mantra’s shirts display an original, one-word, silk-screened design that serves as a reminder to concentrate on simple things such as breathe, patience and love. The shirts’ message is also meant to attract positive energy to the wearer and those surrounding them.

“People look at my line on different levels depending on where they are in their life. For example, busy multi-tasking people like that the Breathe Burst design as it reminds us to breathe during the day. Others simply like Mantra shirts because they are stylish and unique.”

High quality shirts are designed to be complimentary to the human form and soft to the touch. She creates a collection of shirts you want to wear not only because of the message, but because of the way they make you feel. In addition to the women’s shirts, the children’s line has become popular which features the same gentle reminders, such as love, patience and believe, a perfect gift for a new parent.

She is also working on a jewelry line that she hopes will remind people to find the time to breathe and meditate. Not only are her creations pretty and funky, but she also chooses the stones for their healing attributes. On a deeper level they function like mala beads. “I always meet people who say they don’t have the time to meditate,” she says “I hope the bracelets will help people realize they do have the time, plus they make a nice piece of jewelry.”
